It’s snowing today in Dallas and I have to say I am just loving it! The snow in Dallas is the good, packy kind – perfect for snowballs. So I made a few and threw them (like a girl) at the side of my garage. Sometimes we forget about seeing the world with the wonder and fun spirit that children possess. Let’s all take a minute to remind ourselves of the pure magic that exists all around us, everyday. When was the last time you felt magic and what triggered it?

Have you ever noticed the same invention being in invented in several places at the same time? It’s like the idea is out there and several people tap into it at once. I have a Google Alert set for the words “Soul’s Calling” and in the last month, the number of alerts has gone crazy!

Most of the links are connected to blogs or sites that related to healing and inspiration – like this 21-day consciousness cleanse on Oprah.com. My theory is that the current economic climate and world events are causing a massive movement of conscious toward asking the question “what is my Soul’s Calling?”

I believe that we all have a Soul, and that Soul is always trying to talk with us, and “nudge” us forward toward growth, healing and joy.

So, what is your Soul saying today?

Hello happy people! I feel so much gratitude these days. I go through periods where I keep a “daily 5″ list of thing I am grateful for. Today it’s: 1. quiet, rainy days. 2. caffeine. 3. kissing. 4. friends to love. 5. ostrich jerky. Getting into the mode of being grateful for things you already have brings more good things. The challenge to be grateful comes when things aren’t so good – but this is the time it is most important. No matter how bad things seem, there is always something to be grateful for. For some inspiration to the wonders of this world we are living in, here is a link to some very cool cloud pictures and video. Enjoy and may you always find blue skies.

Hello happy people! Just got off the phone with a coffee roaster in the great northwest who wants to create a special Soul’s Calling Morning Blend coffee! Check out this company’s yummy stuff at the Farley’s Coffee Inc. website. It’s kind of strange to add coffee to a gift and accessory line, but if you’re like me, caffeine is more than an accessory! Sunny (resident spokessun and the sunshine oracle on the Soul’s Calling homepage) would have his positive messages on the label of the coffee bag. We were thinking the messages would change out every month or so, and we have even talked about adding a line of “sunny sez” mugs for the holidays if things go well. Sunny twitters bits of wisdom and encouragement almost everyday, so follow us on Twitter if you like. (I know there is a way to link my blog posts to Twitter, but people I am just not that tech savvy – where is a 25-year old when you need them???) Anyway, let me know what you think? Anyone for a cup o’ sunny?

Hello happy people! I try to blog only when there is news - that and I am being lazy about writing…

This Sunday August 30th at 9 pm Eastern/ 8 pm Central I will be on ABC on the new hit reality show “Shark Tank” pitching Soul’s Calling for a helping investment hand. Check out Shark Tank.

Hungry entrepreneurs like me get on the show to pitch a group of five wealthy individuals for investment dollars in exchange for equity. The “sharks” can either make you a deal or chew you up and spit you out.

I can’t tell you the outcome, but I can say the show is awesome and action-packed.

I’ll be having a viewing party here in Dallas for anyone who has interest. Sunday August 30th – 7-9:30 pm at Kenny’s Wood Fired Grill.

I will write more after the show.

Being kind to the earth is on everyone’s lips these days. Soul’s Calling has this in mind too. Sole Seekers Recycled flip flips were recently featured on this TV Guide Channel Fashion Team piece. Adrian Grenier owns a pair – hope they show up on his new show, Alter Eco! They’re made of 20% recycled plastic and 10% recycled rubber soles, with straps of 100% natural renewable rubber. There are more earth-friendly creations planned – as part of Soul’s Calling’s mission of positivity. Be patient though – bioplastics are not quite yet maninstream raw materials for the gifts and accessory world. Where there’s a demand there eventually be a supply though. Kinda works that way in the Universe too. When we put out a strong intention, the Universe definitely responds. In the meantime, I will be taking my glass bottles to the recycling center.

Ever have one of those days, or weeks when you know you are fighting the tide of the universe, and surprise – nothing’s going your way? Dunno about you, but I continue to be stubborn about working my will, despite repeated evidence of the inefficiency of it. This last round went a bit longer than most, as the (perceived) stakes were high: my heart. Like many of you, I have been longing for my soulmate, life partner, guy who makes my heart go pitter-pat – the one that stays around for a long time. Despite various signs from the Universe that true love WILL indeed be on my list of life experiences, I got really mad that it hasn’t already happened. Like mad for WEEKS. It didn’t bring him to me any faster (surprise) and all I got was an upset stomach. I worked myself up into such a froth, indeed I was the mad dog I appeared to be. I finally just plumb wore myself out. When I pictured that scene in The Wizard of Oz where the witch skywrites “surrender Dorothy” with her broom, I had to laugh – and the spell was broken. But hey baby, if you see this, email will ya? LOL Oh, and just for creative exploration, a great new link to an online think tank called Ted. Listen, view and be inspired.

hello perfect beings -I just wanted to share an epiphany I had last week that might be helpful to us all. I have been working on a business plan for Soul’s Calling, as the time is coming to look for financing to help the company grow to the next level. I have enlisted the fabulous volunteer (the right price for this entrepreneur right now!) group called SCORE. It is a national organization of retired business people dedicated to helping entrepreneurs. I dunno about you, but spreadsheets give me palpitations, so I had my first meeting to get some help. I got all tangled up in the exact details of all the info and the dreaded program XL – my mentor, exasperated with me, finally exclaimed “Look, it doesn’t have to be perfect, it’s just a place to start and work from!” EUREKA. I realized that I had missed opportunities and had been getting in the way of my own business by trying not to make a mistake. I then realized I had been doing it in a whole lot of areas in my life, and that guess what – LIFE is not perfect. After my sexual assault in 1997, I spent a good amount of time in that wonderful space where you KNOW how short life can be, and you quit being paralyzed waiting for the perfect time to fall in love, take Samba lessons, sing in public or tell your friends and family you love them. I realized that I had forgotten how to be that girl, and live each day fully and consciously. Well, I am back – and I encourage you to take a chance, go for it and LIVE NOW. If you haven’t had the benefit of a near-death experience and need a guide on how to do this, I humbly recommend Eckhart Tolle’s Power of Now.
